Latin America and the United States

In 1961, Kennedy presented the Alliance for Progress for Latin American Nations (Alianza para el Progreso). It was equated to the European Marshall Plan, and had the intent of closing the class gap in South America. The aid did little though, and most of it was absorbed into the pockets of Latin American leaders.
